Global Education Opportunities
SF Honors students have unique access to global learning experiences — both through the structured Global Scholars Program and through study abroad and study away offerings that count toward your Honors engagement.
The Global Scholars Program
The SF Global Scholars Program is a certificate program for students who complete a structured curriculum of globally-focused coursework, intercultural experiences, and reflection. Honors students are a natural fit for the Global Scholars Program — many of the activities and courses overlap.
To complete the Global Scholars certificate, students:
- Complete a set of globally-focused courses from an approved list
- Participate in at least one intercultural or international experience
- Complete a culminating reflection or project
[NOTE: Confirm current Global Scholars requirements, eligible courses, and the name of the Global Education coordinator with the SF International Education office before publishing.]
Study Abroad & Study Away
SF offers study abroad and study away programs that allow you to earn academic credit in international or out-of-state settings. Honors students who participate in a qualifying program may be able to count the experience toward their Honors Points — speak with Professor Keith before your trip to confirm eligibility.
Past Honors students have traveled to destinations including Costa Rica, the Galápagos Islands, and Europe through SF-sponsored programs. Scholarships are sometimes available to offset costs — ask the International Education office about funding opportunities.
