Ergonomic Health
Overview
The International Ergonomics Association defines ergonomics as
the scientific discipline concerned with the understanding of interactions among humans and other elements of a system, and the profession that applies theory, principles, data and methods to design in order to optimize human well-being and overall system performance.
If you would like to assess the ergonomics of your work area, contact the Safety and Risk Management Coordinator for access to an online self-assessment tool. After using this tool and implementing any recommendations, if any ergonomics concerns remain, contact the Safety and Risk Management Coordinator. You may also forward any physician's notes regarding ergonomic assessment to the Coordinator.

Ergonomics Apps
There are many desktop and phone apps available related to ergonomic health, such as break timers and exercise reminders. Only install apps from trusted sources, and always review the permissions an app requires. To install software or apps on a College-owned computer or device, you must contact ITS.
