Workshops, Trainings & Events
The Counseling & Wellness Center offers a variety of workshops, trainings, presentations, and wellness activities designed to increase knowledge, build practical skills, and promote mental health and well-being across the Santa Fe College community. Opportunities are available for students, faculty, and staff and are offered throughout the year based on campus needs and interests.
Training and educational opportunities may include:
- Stress and Time Management: Workshops that provide practical strategies for managing stress, balancing responsibilities, and developing healthy habits that support academic and personal well-being.
- Wellness Tabling and Outreach: Interactive activities and educational outreach that connect students with wellness information, resources, and strategies they can incorporate into their daily lives.
- Guest Speakers and Special Presentations: Educational programs featuring speakers and topics related to mental health, wellness, student success, and other areas of interest to the college community.
- Additional Workshops and Trainings: Programs addressing topics such as self-care, coping skills, resilience, relationships, emotional well-being, and other mental health and wellness topics.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)
Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based training that teaches participants how to recognize signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use concerns, respond appropriately, and connect individuals with appropriate support and resources.
Adult Mental Health First Aid training for students and employees helps participants understand how to help others who may be experiencing a mental health-related crisis or problem on campus. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, psychosis, and addictions. Attendees will need to be present for the entire course for certification. QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Suicide Prevention
QPR is a suicide prevention training that teaches participants how to recognize warning signs, engage someone who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts, and connect them with appropriate help and resources.
Santa Fe College is offering an online suicide prevention training to all students, faculty, and staff. QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training helps participants recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and then question, persuade, and refer someone to help.
The training program will take approximately one hour. Speakers or headphones are required. You must turn off your popup blocker. You may stop and start it as you like.

Yoga & Mind-Body Wellness
Yoga and other mind-body wellness activities offer students opportunities to practice movement, mindfulness, relaxation, and stress management. Offerings vary by campus and semester.
