As northern Florida prepares for a historic winter storm, and to support the safety and wellbeing of our students and employees, Santa Fe College will be closed Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
This storm is expected to have massive impact throughout the southeast, and our service district of Alachua and Bradford counties are in a Winter Storm Warning through Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service is calling for the potential of ice on roads and bridges, especially in the early morning hours of Wednesday, which may pose travel hazards for students and employees. Ice forming on power lines could potentially lead to power outages throughout the region. Additionally, many neighboring school districts have already made the decision to close, which will create childcare issues for many in our college community.
The college will resume standard academic and business operations Thursday, January 23.
