10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2026

Santa Fe College Outlook appears to be working normally. However, Microsoft is still working on the issue and warns of potential delayed delivery and other residual impact.

From Microsoft: Sep 1, 2026, 6:58 AM EDT
A substantial portion of the remediation deployment has been completed, and organizations whose environments remain affected are expected to recover as the deployment reaches the relevant infrastructure. As remediation progresses, we're focused on validating sustained recovery and monitoring for any remaining pockets of impact before determining whether any additional corrective actions are required. This quick update is designed to give the latest information on this issue. We recognize the impact this issue may be causing for your organization and want to assure you that resolving it remains our highest priority. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue working toward mitigation.

8:30 p.m., Monday, August 31, 2026

Santa Fe College users are beginning to receive email through Outlook. However, Micosoft warns of potential delayed delivery and other residual impact.

Microsoft reports: We're progressively restarting targeted sections of affected infrastructure to ensure the re-applied authentication components are effectively implemented across affected services. We expect this will aid the recovery of affected scenarios. Users should expect delayed delivery of backlogged messages and residual impact across downstream scenarios as these actions are continuing. We'll provide an expected recovery time as soon as one becomes available to us.

5 p.m., Monday, August 31, 2026

Microsoft has reported that they "identified an issue with an authentication component which is contributing to impact. To address this, we’ve developed a remediation strategy, and we’re applying it to a portion of infrastructure to test its efficacy. Once we’ve confirmed this resolves impact, we’ll apply the solution more broadly."

At this point, however, there is no estimated time when Outlook and Exchange Online will be available.

It also has been reported that other integrated Microsoft 365 cloud services are experiencing disruptions. At this time, Santa Fe College has not experienced those outages but we are alert to the issue.

2 p.m., Monday, August 31, 2026

Accounts were affected beginning about 9 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2026, and about 11:30 a.m. locally.  Also, be aware that messages you sent as the outage happened might be stuck in your Outbox and never sent.

There are no other details at this time.

We will provide updates as they are made available.
