SF Police Department

Santa Fe College has its own police department with sworn officers who have arrest powers. They are on campus 7 days per week, 24 hours per day providing services like securing the premises, traffic control, parking lot monitoring, escort after dark when requested, and responding to questions and situations of concern.

College Senate

The purpose of the College Senate is

  • to provide a means by which the membership may participate in the formulation of policies for the College;
  • to promote cooperation for the improvement of the College and community;
  • to provide a medium through which solutions to educational problems may be found;
  • to provide opportunities for self-development and the exercise of initiative and leadership;
  • to stimulate professional enthusiasm and spirit;
  • to function as a liaison between the membership and other local, state, and national associations and program.

Two voting adjunct representatives are on the College Senate.

Fee Waivers and Professional Development Scholarship Fund

Part-time employees, who are not employed as student employees, are eligible for waivers only during periods of time when they are actively employed and after completing one full semester of employment. Please read Rule 7.13 and Procedure 7.13Pfor more information. Through the Professional Development Scholarship Fund, University of Florida fee waivers are extended to adjunct faculty based on availability.

Kika Silva Pla Planetarium

Santa Fe College houses the only planetarium in North Central Florida. The Kika Silva Pla Planetarium has a vast show library and is consistently adding new material. As Santa Fe College employees, all Planetarium shows are free, with the exclusion of Saturday night music showings. For admission, you must present a valid Santa Fe College Employee ID Card.

Fine Arts Performances

Santa Fe College’s award-winning theatre, dance and music departments offer first-class entertainment for faculty, students, and staff. Most student productions are free of charge for SF faculty, students and staff, while other shows may offer tickets at a discounted rate. Evening Services Office (ESO)

The Evening Services Office is located within the Center for Student Leadership & Activities (S-Lobby), and provides limited assistance to faculty members teaching evening classes. Student Government and Student Organization offices, as well as meeting space and a small computer lab are also accessible during evening hours at the Center for Student Leadership & Activities. Listed below are some of the services offered:

  • Sell Scantron forms and blue books
  • Print SFID Cards for students, faculty, and staff
  • Provide access to Computer Lab and Recreation Room, Student Government and Student Organization Offices
  • Pay for print services available
  • Can look-up room schedules

The ESO is open between the hours of 4:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and can be reached at 352-395-5912.

Marketing & Communications (MarCom)

MarCom manages all internal and external communication for the college whether it is online, in print, in person, and/or in the media. Responsible for the college website, in addition to department webpages, available for use from MarCom are marketing materials, downloadable content, as well as various helpful links, and a staff listing. Direct Deposit

Employees can elect to have paychecks direct deposited into a checking and/or savings account by filling out the Authorization for Payment form and submitting to Payroll.

Library Services

The library offers various services to faculty, staff, and students.

To make a request from the Video Library, please visit the Library's Video Request Form.

Employee ID

Adjunct instructors receive employee ID's at orientation, at the request of their department, or by emailing virginia.peter@sfcollege.edu. The ID can be used to attend games and events for free, utilize the library and gym, as well as receive discounts.

Regional Transit Service (RTS)

All Santa Fe employees receive unlimited access with a valid SFID

Dental Clinic

SF's dental clinic offers reduced rates. Please visit our dental lab's website here.

Gym

The gym is available to adjuncts. Employees can work out in the Cybex room or the free weight room. Various classes are offered throughout the term. Please visit their website for hours and information.

Payroll Deductions

SF offers payroll deduction for 403(b) and 457(b) accounts. Please see our benefit website for a list of vendors and more information.

Center for Academic Technologies (CAT)

The Center for Academic Technologies (CAT) provides:

  • Support for faculty to integrate technologies into the learning environment
  • Assistance with distant learning
  • Specialized workshops and individual instruction as needed
  • Provide training and support for faculty web offices

The Help Desk and Office 365

SF’s Help Desk provides technical software, hardware, and network problem resolution as it relates to Santa Fe College systems, computer programs, installations, and equipment. If you have computer issues you may contact a Help Desk Technician at 352-395-5999 or help.desk@sfcollege.edu. As an adjunct faculty member, Office 365 is available to you at no cost.
