Overview
Scholarships are available for students with performance and technical expertise in any area of the performing arts, including dance, music, musical theatre, technical theatre, and general theatre performance. Students should have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in academic subject areas, and must participate in a formal audition and/or presentation.

- Vocal/Instrumental/Piano: Thursday, June 16, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Acting/Musical Theatre: Thursday, June 16, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Visual Arts: Thursday, June 16, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Dance: Thursday, June 16, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Technical Theatre: Thursday, June 16, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Theatre
Technical Theatre
Applicants must submit the following:
- Submit a current resume (as a pdf)
- Submit one-page statement discussing your goals, their relationship to your past experiences, and your interests in Santa Fe College’s Theatre program (as a pdf).
- Submit a Portfolio with student’s experiences and work in technical theatre (as a ppt and/ or pdf).
- A portfolio is three-ring binder or similar book which contains a collection of images and photos from a show in which you were directly involved.
- Be sure to provide notation for each image depicting your contribution.
- Label all entries clearly.
- Each entry should include: Dates, Venue, Name of Show, Director of Show.
- Classroom projects and personal projects (model building, cosplay, arts and crafts) may also be included.
Examples of Portfolio inclusions - Drawings, design plots, ground plans, sketches, models.
- Schedules, reports, running crew assignments, tracking charts.
- Prompt books with blocking and cueing.
- Photographs of construction and/ or installation processes.
- Photographs of the completed show in production.
- Do not include special effects unless it is a part of your original work.
- Submit a prepared video presentation, 2 minutes or less in length, on one Technical Theater project or process in which a challenge was presented and the challenge was solved (as one of the following types of files: mp4, mov, wmv, avi).
- In lieu of a face-to-face interview, applicants will be contacted for a Zoom audition with Technical Theatre Instructors. This Zoom meeting will occur on the Scholarship Interview day and time frame.
Acting
Applicants must bring the following to the audition:
- Current resume of Theatre work
- Two contrasting one-minute monologues
Musical Theatre
Applicants must bring the following to the audition:
- Current resume of Theatre work
- One one-minute monologue
- The vocal audition should include one piece from the musical theatre repertoire
- Short dance audition
Visual Arts
Applicants must participate in an invitational portfolio review and interview by the art faculty. Applicants must bring the following to the portfolio review:
- Portfolio should contain ten different original works and/or slides that represent the artistic/creative level of the applicant
- Portfolio should be clearly labeled with the applicant's name, address, and local telephone number
- Portfolio works should be neatly presented; this may include matting, shrink wrap, etc.
- Original works or slides can be representative of in-class and out-of-class art work.
Dance
Applicants must bring the following to the audition:
- Must have knowledge of classical ballet terminology.
- Appropriate dance attire for participation in a formal audition class. If you have experience on pointe then you should bring pointe shoes as well.
- A prepared solo performance piece (2 minutes or less) in any dance discipline with CD accompaniment.
Audition Format
The Dance audition format will be as follows:
- Abbreviated Ballet class, Modern Dance combinations
- One Jazz Dance combination
- Improvisational Exercise
- Solo performance/Interview with faculty
Music
Instrumental
Applicants must bring the following to the audition:
- Instrumentalists should prepare two pieces of varying styles (e.g., a ballad, an up-tempo jazz standard, and/or a blues piece).
- Applicants must bring six (6) copies of any sheet music or lead sheet used.
- Applicants must attend a brief interview with the music faculty to ascertain their level of training in music fundamentals and theory.
Please note: Instrumentalists wishing to use an accompanist should contact Alora Haynes or call 352-395-5926 as early as possible to make suitable arrangements.
Vocal
Applicants must bring the following to the audition:
- Vocalists should prepare two classical pieces of contrasting styles, at least one in English.
- Applicants must bring six (6) copies of any sheet music used.
- An accompanist for a live performance is highly recommended; however, accompaniment may be provided on CD.
- Applicants must attend a brief interview with the music faculty to ascertain their level of training in music fundamentals and theory.

Piano
Applicants must bring the following to the audition:
- Prepare two pieces from contrasting periods to be played from memory. Complete pieces or movements only.
- You will be asked to sight read a short excerpt or piece.
- Applicants must attend a brief interview with the music faculty to ascertain their level of training in music theory.
