Santa Fe Saints Shine: Emanuel-Wright and Howard Earn Prestigious Honors

March 7, 2025
Santa Fe College Athletics recently celebrated two significant accolades, highlighting the outstanding achievements of former and current student-athletes. Arianna Emanuel-Wright has been elected to the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) 2025 Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame class, while Kailyn Howard was recognized at the 18th annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Heart of Champions Banquet.
Emanuel-Wright Joins FCSAA Hall of Fame
Arianna Emanuel-Wright, a standout player for the Santa Fe Saints from 2015 to 2017, has been selected for induction into the FCSAA Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. Her time at SF was marked by numerous accolades, including being named Mid-Florida Conference Player of the Year, a Second Team NJCAA All-American, and a member of both the FCSAA All-State and FCSAA All-Tournament teams.
During her sophomore season, Emanuel-Wright emerged as one of the nation’s top scorers, finishing as the seventh-leading scorer in the NJCAA and second in the FCSAA with an impressive 20.3 points per game. By the end of her SF career, she had scored 884 points, securing her place as the program’s fourth all-time leading scorer.
Reflecting on her Hall of Fame induction, Emanuel-Wright credited Santa Fe College with providing the groundwork for her success.
“Almost ten years ago, I stepped into Gainesville—17 years old (and teary-eyed, I must admit)—with an instant fear that I might not be able to make strides on the path I had dreamed of since the fifth grade,” she said. “Those two years at Santa Fe [College] set a foundation of strength, resiliency, and patience—all values that I prioritize today.”
Howard Honored at FCA Heart of Champions Banquet
Kailyn Howard was recognized at the 18th annual FCA Heart of Champions Banquet, an event that honors student-athletes who exemplify the core values of integrity, service, teamwork, and excellence. Held at Greenhouse Church, the banquet brought together FCA committee members, board members, volunteers, coaches, and athletes from across North Central Florida.
FCA officials honor high school and collegiate student-athletes who exemplify perseverance, sportsmanship, and faith while leading by example. The Heart of a Champion Award recognizes individuals dedicated to athletics, community service, and personal integrity. This year’s recipient from Santa Fe College, Kailyn Howard, joins a distinguished group of past honorees, including Kelli Cunningham (2023) and Joshua Watkins (2024).
