Establish A Scholarship

Overview

Establishing an endowed scholarship is a meaningful way for a family, individual, or organization to honor a special person while creating opportunities for future generations of Santa Fe College students. Each scholarship fund is unique and the Santa Fe College Foundation is here to guide you through every step of the process.

When creating an endowed scholarship, there are several common considerations:

  1. Eligibility Requirements
Determine who will be eligible to receive the scholarship. Criteria may include a specific program of study, minimum grade point average, graduation from a particular high school, residency within a designated geographic area, financial need, or other factors meaningful to the donor.
  2. Award Distribution and Amount
Decide how many scholarships will be awarded and the amount of each award. The Foundation will work with you to develop a distribution plan that aligns with your goals and the fund's long-term sustainability.
  3. Fund Availability
Scholarship awards are made from the earnings generated by the endowed fund. Awards become available when the fund's earnings reach the minimum amount required for distribution in accordance with Foundation policies.

Invest in the Future. Invest in Scholarships.
