Overview
Santa Fe College offers several academic programs in partnership with the University of Florida. These joint SF/UF programs provide SF students with a direct connection to specific upper-division UF programs, or provide UF students with access to in-person courses at SF to supplement their online courses offered through the university.
SF2UF Bridge to Baccalaureate
The SF2UF Bridge to Baccalaureate Program is a partnership that seeks to increase the number of minority and underrepresented SF students in the biomedical and behavioral sciences who go on to transfer to UF and graduate with bachelor's degrees in biomedical and behavioral science-related disciplines. A highlight of the program is that selected students will be able to conduct scientific research in the laboratory of a University of Florida professor as undergraduates while enrolled at Santa Fe College.
SF to UF College of Pharmacy
SF has a unique relationship with the UF College of Pharmacy, called Pathway to Pharmacy. Students spend two years at SF satisfying pharmacy prerequisites, meet regularly with advisors from UF's College of Pharmacy, and then apply for admission to the four-year Doctor of Pharmacy program. For more information, contact the UF College of Pharmacy at prepharmacy@cop.ufl.edu.
Gator Engineering
SF maintains special partnership program with the University of Florida that enables construction management, architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, and sustainability majors to transition more quickly to UF’s College of Engineering. In order to be admitted into these programs, high school students must apply to UF as freshmen by November 1. UF will select the pool of applicants who will be invited to participate in the Gator Engineering program. Once admitted into the Gator Engineering program, students will enroll at SF and begin taking critical tracking courses here. Students who successfully pass these courses will be guaranteed admission into their desired engineering major at UF. For more information, please visit the Gator Engineering Prospective Students web page.
Gator Design and Construction
SF maintains special partnership program with the University of Florida that enables engineering majors to transition more quickly to UF’s College of Design, Construction and Planning. In order to be admitted into these programs, high school students must apply to UF as freshmen by November 1. UF will select the pool of applicants who will be invited to participate in the Gator Design and Construction program. Once admitted into this special partnership program, students will enroll at SF and begin taking critical tracking courses. Students who successfully pass these courses will be guaranteed admission into their desired design or construction major at UF.
UF PaCE and Innovation Academy Students
Students who have been admitted to the University of Florida’s PaCE program or Innovation Academy can also enroll at Santa Fe and benefit from face-to-face instruction and small class sizes.
PaCE students must first complete a minimum of 15 credit hours of courses online through UF before they can take classes at SF as a transient student. PaCE students should complete the Florida Shines application prior to the semester in which they wish to attend SF. A wide variety of courses, including general education courses and major course prerequisites, can be completed at SF.
Similarly, Innovation Academy students may enroll for onsite courses at SF during the summer and/or fall semesters before they begin taking classes at UF in the spring. To enroll at SF before beginning the Innovation Academy, students must apply to SF as a new student. Innovation Academy students wishing to enroll at SF in fall after their first year in the program may do so as transient students; they should complete the Florida Shines application during the summer semester.
