Program Overview
The A.S. in Emergency Medical Services at Santa Fe College is for new or seasoned professionals looking to advance their career in the field of Emergency Medical Services. The foundation is laid in the first responder and EMT basic curriculum. It is built upon in the comprehensive paramedic, in which students learn prehospital medicine, clinical skills, critical thinking and cutting-edge trends in pre-hospital care. These programs prepare individuals to deliver patient care at the scene of an emergency, in an ambulance, with fire rescue, in an emergency department, in the military and in many other areas of health care.
Students must demonstrate competency in reading, writing, oral communication and fundamental mathematical and computer skills. The program advisor will provide details when the student enters the degree track.
