Santa Fe College Hosts Graphic Design Student Exhibition on May 1

April 16, 2025

Everyone is invited to the annual Santa Fe College Graphic Design Student Exhibition, presented by SCAD Media, on Thursday, May 1, at 6 p.m. The event will take place on the third floor of Building N at SF’s Northwest Campus.

The 2025 Student Exhibition features the work of graphic design graduates and undergraduates through a variety of media displays. Guests can explore themed photo areas, enjoy surprise interactive activities, and experience live music.

While the event celebrates the accomplishments of graduates, it’s also a key gathering for the Gainesville creative community. With over 150 attendees last year, the exhibition continues to grow as one of the area’s top showcases of graphic design talent.

“Our A.S. degree program has had a strong connection with the Gainesville community for so many years,” Professor Shawna Mansfield said, “and it just felt natural to celebrate that connection as each group of graphic design graduates steps into their careers. Over the last few years, I’ve been really intentional about bringing more energy—and flat-out fun—to this event, because I want it to be a destination event for our whole creative community. It’s also a chance for the community to welcome the next generation of graphic designers into the industry—and that kind of support means a lot.”

The juried exhibition showcases student work in communication design, advertising design and digital media. This year’s judges have all been longstanding supporters of the program: Trudy Abadie-Mendia, Director of Digital Programs at the University of North Florida; Marien Zambrano, Marketing Communications Manager & Senior Graphic Designer at Anda, Inc.; and Jessica Sallustio, Senior UX Designer at Love & Company.

The day before the exhibition opens, a panel of professionals from national organizations such as Friends of Kids with Cancer, Mastercard, UF Research Communications, James Moore & Co., Fanatics, and Southwest Gas Corporation will review each graduate’s portfolio.

Organizers express their sincere gratitude to the sponsors whose generosity makes the event possible. Special thanks go to platinum sponsor SCAD Media; gold sponsors Jade, Frankel: Agency, and Renaissance Printing; and silver sponsors Gainesville Fine Arts Association (courtesy of Susan Fulford), J&D Oilfield International, NV5, and Liquid Creative. Organizers are excited to have Rayvon 'Purple Kloud' Rollins return for a second year, bringing dynamic live music to the event.
