Application Requirements
We recommend that you use your name exactly as it appears in your passport when completing all of the steps below (online application, TOEFL)
Provide Proof of High School or Secondary School Completion*
- Official high school transcripts must be sent to either one of two foreign credential education evaluation services: World Education Services (WES) OR Academic Evaluation Services, Inc. for
- verification
- translation
- evaluation
- Students must request to have evaluation reports mailed directly to International Student Services, Santa Fe College.
- Each of these credential evaluation services offers various levels and packages of evaluative services.
Prospective students are requested to select a service(s) which satisfies these three criteria:- Verification – confirmation that the high school transcript and diploma are original and true documents issued by the institution represented on the documents
- Translation – documents that are not originally provided in the English language by the issuing institution must be translated to the English language
- Evaluation – the documents are reviewed to determine their equivalency in the U.S.-based educational system* and this equivalency is confirmed in a brief report.
Admission to Santa Fe College requires that applicants demonstrate proof of completion of a level of education that is equal to or higher than a U.S. high school degree
Present Proof of English Language Proficiency**
Acceptable documents include:
- TOEFL score of 32 or higher on internet-based test (ibt)
Scores must be less than two years old and sent directly to Santa Fe College from ETS
(ETS Code for SF: 5653) -OR- - IELTS score of 4.5 or higher. Scores must be less than two years old and sent directly to Santa Fe College from IELTS -OR-
- Completed the equivalent of English Composition I (ENC1101) at a regionally accredited U.S. College or University with a grade of “C” or higher -OR-
- Earned standard diploma from a valid United States high school -OR-
- Proof of citizenship from an English-speaking country -OR-
- Completed level 40 or higher in all sections at the University of Florida’s English Language Institute (ELI) All documents must be official (no photocopies)
**Santa Fe College reserves the right to mandate TOEFL test scores of any student applicant
Confirm Availability of Funds
- Complete the F-1 Student Proof of Funds Form (available online)
- Attach your financial documentation Bank Letter (see example here) or (scholarship letter) to the Proof of Funds Form
- All documents must be originals, less than 6 months old, and currency must be United States Dollars (USD)
- If your sponsor is a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident, also complete form I-134.
- Mail only original, signed documents directly to International Student Services, Santa Fe College.
Submit Passport
- Submit copy of valid passport. — This document can be provided to International Student Services via email.
Additional Requirements
- If you are transferring from another U.S. College or University, please complete an F-1 Transfer-In Form.
See your current International Student Advisor for assistance with completing the form. - If you have previous college or university credits from a non-U.S. institution, you must send your official transcripts to World Education Services or Academic Evaluation Services, Inc. for a course-by-course evaluation.
- If your spouse and/or children require F-2 visas, you will need to complete additional paperwork.
- If you are applying for a change of status, you must submit copies of your current visa, form I-797, and other documentation as requested.
- If you are already inside the United States, please send copies of your I-94 card, all previous I-20s, and F-1 student visa these documents can be provided to International Student Services via email.
