Mike Laffey - Coordinator, International Student Services
Mike joined the staff in the International Center in June 2019 to begin working as the Coordinator for International Student Services (ISS). Prior coming to Santa Fe, he worked as the Director of International Student Services at Tallahassee Community College and as the Coordinator for the Office of International Programs at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, he worked as an ESL teacher in Bogotá, Colombia.
Originally from Scranton, Pa., Mike enjoys working with international students and helping them achieve their goals. In his free time, he enjoys sports, traveling, and reading.
Mike is a proud graduate of the University of Scranton and the University of Limerick (Ireland).
Karen Elliott - International Admissions Specialist
Karen was born and raised in Venezuela. She has a bachelor’s degree in Biology from her country. Prior to coming to Santa Fe, she was a student at the English Language Institute at the University of Florida. She joined the Santa Fe College family with the dream of helping international students to achieve their academic goals.
Karen enjoys meeting people from different countries and cultures. In her free time, she loves to spend time outdoors enjoying nature, traveling, and practicing yoga.
Adriana Chavez - International Admissions Specialist
Adriana was born and raised in Mexico. As a former international student at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), she is passionate about mentoring students through the different cultural and legal challenges of starting school in a foreign country. Her goal is to provide an easy and enjoyable transition for international students during their college and professional careers.
Adriana loves traveling, reading, and watching live music in her free time. She is also very interested in immigration law and political communication studies.
