Study Abroad in Denmark
SF in Denmark 2026
Program Overview
Denmark boasts a strong and stable business environment characterized by high levels of trust, a highly skilled and productive workforce, and a well-developed infrastructure. Danish people value equality and their work environments are known for their non-hierarchical management approach. The Danish way of working is high-focused effort during working hours and a late-afternoon shift to family and personal time. This work-life balance makes for happier employees and strong families. A national network of quality subsidized child-care facilities gives Danish women the opportunity to compete on equal footing with Danish men.
Students participating in the Study Abroad program will learn about business culture and management approaches in Danish workplaces. They will also learn about the legal environment that Danish workplaces are situated in, as well as the ways that managers establish and promote ethical behavior consistent with their organizational values.
Overall, participation in the course will allow students to gain a deeper understanding of global management practices. This is critical because globalization today has made the world a much smaller place and relationships with other countries are crucial. Moreover, globalization poses the challenge of sustainability to today's companies, increasing the importance of management practices. Multinational and global organizations are operating with diverse individuals – recruiting, selecting, training, developing, and retaining them. Managers must navigate each country's culture, government, compensation, and other policies when they work with employees of different national cultures and send employees on expatriate assignments.
