The Guy Andrews Center

Santa Fe College Andrews CenterThe Old Bradford County Courthouse was set to be destroyed, but with the vision and fundraising efforts of Guy Andrews, along with individual contributions from community members, Santa Fe College became the heart of Starke, representing the community's pride, with opportunity for a brighter future for residents.

Located in the city of Starke, in the center of Bradford County, the Andrews Center offers a welcoming environment where students can pursue educational and career goals while receiving personalized student support.

The first-class offering began on September 29, 1964, and was held at the old USO Building, located on Highway 301. Classes expanded to 5 offerings in 1965. In 1969, there were ten classes held at the Bradford Middle School, and more were classes were offered in this location through 1972. In 1973, classes moved to Bradford High School, then to Starke Elementary in 1974 through 1977. Classes were moved back to Bradford High School in 1978 and remained there until the Andrews Center was opened in 1985.

Santa Fe College Cultural Building Starke

In 1985, the Bradford County Courthouse building’s renovation was completed and opened as Santa Fe Junior College; Santa Fe’s first satellite campus. The first section of the building was built in 1902. An extension of the building was made in 1933 and served as the courthouse through 1968.

Due to increased enrollment, the Cultural Building, formerly named the Jones Rosenberg Building, was restored and opened in 1991, and the Lillian Stump Education Building was built in 2003 to serve dual-enrolled students. The Andrews Center offers over 60 day and evening classes and high school dual-enrollment. The center also hosts a College for Kids program during the Summer that includes science, robotics, and art exploration for youth ages 7- 14.

Students can earn an A.A. degree entirely at the center, and they can take classes that go towards A.S. degree programs. This Center features small class sizes, tutors, and many additional resources.
