Veterans Bridge Scholarship Mission:
Raises funds needed to set up a perpetual bank account, which will allow scholarships to deserving veterans using the interest accrued. This Scholarship is supported by, the Inter Fraternity Council at UF, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and the Collegiate Veterans Societies at both UF and SF.
Scholarships will be awarded based on criteria established by the Veteran Bridge Scholarship (VBS) Committee. The student must be enrolled full-time for their program and pursuing a degree (A.A., A.S., B.A., M.A., Ph.D.) or certificate program. All applicants must have served after September 11, 2001.
- Veterans - must be a veteran with an honorable discharge having served in the United States military. Must be enrolled in college for the first time as a veteran.
- National Guard and Reserve - must be actively serving and in good standing with unit. Must be first semester in college since joining National Guard or Reserve.
Documents to be submitted by student:
- Application
- Essay- all students are required to turn in a two-page minimum essay (12pt, double spaced). Essay should outline the following: military and life experiences, educational and future goals and the manner in which scholarship would aid the recipient reach their goals.
- Unofficial College Transcripts
- DD-214 - Veterans only
- Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE) - National Guard and Reserve
All applications must be submitted to the Veterans and Military Success Services office located on Santa Fe College in R-110 or emailed to sandra.torres-pintos@sfcollege.edu on or before August 20, 2019.
