Welcome
Student Support Services at Santa Fe College is a program designed to help students succeed by assisting them in navigating the different aspects of college life. As an SSS Scholar, you will have a designated Academic Coach who can help you with academic inquiries, applying for financial aid, free tutoring, personal mentoring, transfer assistance, or connecting you with adequate resources.
As first-generation college students, our staff is committed to providing an encouraging and welcoming space where students can seek the guidance necessary to achieve their educational goals. Our services are designed to ensure meeting the following objectives with students:
- Maintain a good academic standing each term
- Persist in college from one academic year to the next
- Graduate with an A.A. degree or certificate within four years
- Graduate with an A.A. degree or certificate within four years AND transfer to a four year institution
The services are provided at no cost to the students in an effort to ensure a successful post-secondary experience. This program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
Eligibility Requirements
Students must be a citizen or national of the United States or meet the residency requirements for Federal student financial assistance and must be enrolled at Santa Fe College or accepted for enrollment for the next term. Students applying to the Student Support Services program must also meet one or more of the following criteria:
- First-Generation College Student: neither parent (or legal guardian) earned a four-year college degree.
- Low Income: as established by the Federal TRIO Programs Current-Year Low-Income Levels
- Review your dependency status for federal financial assistance.
- Independent students who are 23 years of age or younger will be asked to submit a copy of their most recently completed FAFSA.
- Disability: students with a physical or learning disability who are registered with the Disabilities Resources Center.
- Evidence of need for academic support to pursue a post-secondary educational program successfully: as determined by the SSS Academic Coach during the application review.

To apply, complete the TRIO Student Support Services program application.
Dependent students must, also, submit an Income Verification Form signed by the parent or legal guardian.
