Welcome
Student Support Services at Santa Fe College is a program designed to increase college retention and graduation rates by assisting students in navigating the various aspects of college life. As SSS Scholars, students work alongside a designated Academic Coach to ensure meeting the following objectives of the SSS program:
- Achieve a grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher each term
- Persist in college from one academic year to the next
- Graduate with an A.A. degree or certificate within four years
- Graduate with an A.A. degree or certificate AND transfer to a four-year institution within four years
Our staff is committed to providing a welcoming and encouraging space where students can find a supportive community as they progress towards achieving their educational goals.
Eligibility Requirements
Students must be a citizen or national of the United States or meet the residency requirements for Federal student financial assistance. They must be enrolled at Santa Fe College or accepted for enrollment for the next term and must meet one or more of the following criteria:
- First-Generation College Student: neither parent completed a four-year college or university degree.
- Income Eligible: as established by the Federal TRIO Programs Current-Year Low-Income Levels
- Registered With the Disabilities Resource Center: students with a physical or learning disability.
- Evidence of Need for Academic Support to Pursue a Post-Secondary Educational Program Successfully: determined by the SSS Academic Coach during the application review.

To apply, complete the TRIO SSS program application.
Dependent students must also submit an Income Verification Form signed by the parent or legal guardian.
The U.S. Department of Education funds the SSS to serve 206 students. All services are provided at no cost to the participant.
