Nomination Form Overview
Please describe the nominee’s commitment to providing excellence in advisement with respect to Santa Fe College’s ideals of access, engagement and innovation. Describe the nominee’s performance in detail in 350 words or less and attach it with this form. Include examples of how these individuals put students first, delivers quality service, and is an asset to Santa Fe College. The nominee’s performance should support all three of the following College goals:
Access
- Opening doors for students to achieve their personal and academic goals through quality guidance.
- Assisting both “high touch” and “high tech” students to gain access to needed information and services.
- Seeking active communication with all staff and faculty across college departments and programs.
Engagement
- Connecting students with different programs, staff and instructors to reduce isolation on campus and increase the likelihood of retention.
- Coaching students toward increased quality relationships with other students.
- Helping students to balance life priorities with academic responsibilities through the focus on appropriate resources and behaviors.
- Maintaining a supportive and engaging work environment among colleagues that encourages quality help for students.
Innovation
- Merging existing services or systems in different ways to provide students with the highest quality and most comprehensive advisement through new efforts in communication, coordination and collaboration across departments and programs.
- Supporting initiatives to create programs and processes that increase options to meet the changing student needs.
- Fostering more integration of services among departments to sustain a learning community supportive of good health and wellness for the benefit of students, staff and faculty.
