Strategic Planning
The Division of Assessment, Research and Technology leads the collaborative process of strategic planning at Santa Fe College college. Faculty and staff contributed to the design and achievement of the 2014-2019 Strategic Plan through annual open-invitation events for shared visioning, reporting on progress, and brainstorming on current opportunities and challenges.
Development of the new strategic plan began in 2019 with a college-wide visioning session, during which approximately 100 faculty and staff worked in teams to describe ideas on the most impactful steps SF could take over the next five years to push student success to ever higher levels. Notes from the workshop led to identification of four student-focused themes for the new plan: clear purpose, growth mindset, equitable experience, and smooth transition. A draft plan was created by a steering committee using notes from the visioning session and from five strategic planning charrettes attended by community and non-profit partners, education partners, civic and business leaders, and members of the District Board of Trustees and Foundation Board. Feedback on the draft has been gathered from the SF Resource and Planning Council, College Senate, Career Service Council, Student Government leadership team, Student Affairs leadership team, and District Board of Trustees.
A final draft of the new plan will be presented by the steering committee for consideration by the SF District Board of Trustees in early 2021.
