Drive-Thru Grad Walk
The Drive-Thru Grad Walk will take place on April 29 and April 30. With this event, graduates will:
- Drive up to a stage,
- Exit the vehicle while wearing a mask (leaving masked guests inside of the vehicle),
- Walk across the stage, pose for a photo, pick up a gift bag that includes a graduation program,
- Return to the vehicle and drive away so that the next graduate can be honored.
The Drive-Thru Grad Walk is by appointment only. Graduates must schedule an appointment by Friday, April 23 at 5:00 p.m. in order to participate.

Students in need of accommodations should complete the Accommodations For Events form by April 9, 2021, allowing the college to make reasonable efforts to provide accommodations.
Caps and Gowns
Caps and gowns are not required for the Drive-Thru Grad Walk.
Caps, tassels and bachelor hoods are available for sale in the SF Bookstore(Opens in new window). Sales cannot be processed over the phone for security reasons. Students must shop in person.
Diploma frames are available in-store and online(Opens in new window).
Students interested in the complete set of regalia cap, gown, tassel) must purchase it on the Herff Jones website(Opens in new window). Gowns are not available for sale in the SF Bookstore. Regalia will be shipped directly to the student’s home.
Graduate Responsibilities for the Drive-Thru Grad Walk (see map for Enter/Exit/Parking and drive through route)
- Each graduate is allowed to have a total of two vehicles (including the vehicle that the graduate is traveling). Both cars must remain together throughout the entire time on campus.
- Plan to arrive at least 20 minutes but no more than 30 minutes before your appointment time.
- As you approach campus, look for Enter/Exit/Parking signs on NW 83rd Street.
- Park in Lot 4 in front of the Library. Police officers will direct you to your place in line per your appointment time.
- Upon entering the parking lot, each graduate will be handed an information card to fill out for the photographers. The graduate should complete the card with blue or black ink while waiting for their appointment time. Graduates must hand the completed card to a staff member upon exiting the car and prior to crossing the stage.
- Cars will be directed to drive under the awning of the Jackson N. Sasser Fine Arts Hall. The graduate will step out of the car, hand the information card to the staff member standing next to the stage, walk across the stage, remove your mask (if you wish) and pause for a brief photo.
- As graduates exit the stage, they will be given a gift bag with a graduation program.
- Graduate will return to their car and follow signage to the exit.
Drive-Thru Grad Walk Safety Protocols
(Note: We will implement CDC guidelines and any state or local orders for COVID-19 that are in effect as of the date of the ceremony. Due to the safety procedures in place, we expect there may be some delays. We thank you in advance for your patience.)
Guest and Safety Information
- Only two cars per graduate – guests of the graduates must meet in Parking Lot 4, east of the Lawrence W. Tyree Library, and wait for their appointment time. Guests and graduates’ cars must stay together in line.
- Masks will be required for all guests. Once the graduates exits the car and walk across the stage, they may remove their masks for their photo.
- Family and guests must not exit the car.
- Social distancing will be required.
- Guests should not attend if: they or someone in their household has, COVID-19 and/or symptoms that may evidence COVID-19.
- Please follow all markings and signage to ensure the health and safety of other guests and event staff. Any guest not abiding by social distancing requirements and other facility policies may be asked to leave the premises.
- Remember that Santa Fe College is a no-smoking campus.
