Overview
The Transcript Evaluation Department would like to provide you with tools and information concerning the evaluation of all transcripts sent to us by students transferring from other colleges.
The federal government requires students to send a transcript from EVERY school you have attended if planning on transferring to Santa Fe College. Coursework must come directly from that school, we can not accept coursework from 3rd parties. Santa Fe College accepts transfer coursework from regionally accredited institutions. Santa Fe College may also accept credits from institutions that are not regionally accredited in accordance with the State of Florida K-16 Articulation Agreement, which recognizes courses approved in connection with the Florida Department of Education Statewide Course Numbering System.
Electronic transcripts will be accepted by Santa Fe College if they are sent through a secure PDF Transcript Delivery Option. Florida public college transcripts are usually sent/requested automatically through the FASTER system, but private and out-of-state colleges can also send transcripts electronically if they have that capability.
If your college or university can send secure PDF transcripts, please provide this email address to your sending school when requesting official college transcripts: TE@sfcollege.edu.
If you are not sure if your college or university can send secure PDF transcripts or would like to initiate your own request to send transcripts electronically, please visit Parchment Exchange.
You may view your coursework on eSantaFe once ALL of your transfer coursework has been evaluated (coursework will not post until all schools have been received and evaluated) under the "Advisement" tab then "My Info/Status" link.
NOTE: "In Progress" transcripts will NOT be evaluated as they are incomplete. Please do not send your transcript until all of your FINAL grades have posted. You may view the status of pending transcripts under the "Advisement" tab then "My Info/Status" link in eSantaFe.
It is the student's responsibility to follow up and confirm all transcripts have been received. Transcripts will be processed within 10 business days from the date of receipt of the final transcript.
NOTE: Transcripts with a print date older than 6 months will not be accepted as valid for evaluation.
Financial Aid
Your aid will not be processed until all final transcripts have been received and evaluated from each school. The processing time for transcripts of students who have applied for financial aid is approximately 3-5 business days from the date of receipt of final transcript.
NOTE: If you have a previous degree, please check with financial aid in regards to eligibility status.
Closed Schools
If you previously attended a school that you think has closed, you may use the search page to verify. You will then need to contact the appropriate Closed School Contact for the state the school was located in and request that a letter be sent to Santa Fe College on your behalf. The contact person can tell you if your records are being held somewhere and how to obtain them. If not, they will need to send a letter to the Transcript Evaluation Department in R-112 stating that the school was closed and no records are available for you. They will need to include your name and social security number. The contacts can be found here.
Credit By Exam (AP/IB/CLEP/AICE/DANTES)
To receive credit for accelerated credit-by-exam mechanisms, provide exam scores to the Office of the Registrar. For AP and CLEP exams, students can request to have their scores sent from College Board. For IB exams, request scores/certificate from www.ibo.org.
Military Credit
Active duty service members and retired military personnel may request a review of military experience for possible credit by submitting a copy of their DD-214 to the Office for Veteran and Military Success Services and JST transcript to the Office of the Registrar. Please review our policy for awarding credit for military service for further information.
Transient Status
Santa Fe students wishing to attend another post secondary institution and transfer credits back to Santa Fe College must obtain permission from SF before enrolling at the other institution. Students should fill out a transient form, seek advisement about courses, including correspondence courses, they wish to take, and have their status at SF certified by the Office of the Registrar before enrollment at another institution. For further information about being a transient student visit the Academic Advisement Center.
International Transcripts
Students must provide official post-secondary transcripts from all foreign colleges or universities attended. Students should request an official copy of their transcript to be sent directly from the foreign institution to an evaluation organization that is an endorsed member of NACES or AICE. These foreign College and University transcripts must be evaluated COURSE-BY-COURSE. Santa Fe College most commonly uses Josef Silny & Associates and World Education Services but any NACES or AICE approved member may be used. Students must pay the cost of the transcript evaluation and provide the completed course-by-course evaluation to the Office of the Registrar.
