Program Overview
The curriculum is designed to give students a flexible academic foundation to meet transfer requirements to a college or university, participate in the workplace, or meet personal goals. This program is ideal for students who want to help solve the most challenging problems in medicine, environmental resources, agriculture and human ecology.
Career opportunities in Biological Sciences consist of public health, microbiologist, clinical lab technologist, laboratory technician, research assistant, museum curator, technical writer, botanist, fish and game warden, park naturalist, natural resources planner, veterinarian, agricultural scientist, forester, conservation scientist and biologist.
The Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree is a two-year liberal arts degree designed for the student who intends to transfer into a bachelor's degree program. You do not earn an A.A. in a specific major; however, you do have the opportunity to track toward a specific major at a university by choosing a related advisement track at Santa Fe College. If you don’t see a track geared toward your intended transfer major, you may choose General Studies and speak with your academic advisor.
