Program Overview
Exploratory programs provide you the opportunity to work with your academic advisor and the Career Exploration Center to learn more about academic options related to certain programs. You may stay in the exploratory track until you have completed 24 credit hours toward your A.A. degree, at which time you will be required to select a more specific academic track.
The Exploring Arts & Humanities track is for anyone interested in a major related to the arts, humanities, or languages. This can include: African-American studies, Chinese, classical studies, English, French, German, Japanese, Jewish studies, linguistics, philosophy, Portuguese, religious studies, Russian, Spanish, art, art history, theatre, dance or other related majors.
The Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree is a two-year liberal arts degree designed for the student who intends to transfer into a bachelor's degree program. You do not earn an A.A. in a specific major; however, you do have the opportunity to track toward a specific major at a university by choosing a related advisement track at Santa Fe College. If you don’t see a track geared toward your intended transfer major, you may choose General Studies and speak with your academic advisor.
