The Santa Fe College Police Department is a fully sworn police agency dedicated to serving in partnership with the College community. The Police Department patrols the main campus and several centers 24/7/365 and is committed to keeping everyone safe and secure. The Police Department formed in 1993 replacing the security department at that time. Today, SF is one of only a very few Colleges in the Florida College System with a police department and is the largest in the State. Three Chiefs have served with the agency. Chiefs Anthony Blalock and Daryl Johnston are retired. The current and first full time chief is Ed Book.
The Santa Fe College Police Department and its personnel have all received awards and distinguished recognition from leading law enforcement organizations. In these cases, the College Police Department has been the first higher education law enforcement agency to ever receive these awards.
