SF Online includes different types of courses:
- ONLINE COURSES- Online courses provide convenience and flexibility, but they aren’t for everyone. Be sure to check out “Is Online Learning for You” to see if you are a good candidate for online learning. Anyone at SF can take an online course for more flexibility in scheduling. Online courses may have no on-campus requirements at all, or may include required exams that have to be taken in a face-to-face environment (i.e., proctored).
- HYBRID COURSES– Also referred to as blended courses, these mixed classes combine the best of both worlds. Typically, hybrid classes meet about half the amount of required hours in a classroom, and the rest of the work is done online. You significantly reduce your travel time and time in class, but you still get to meet regularly with your instructor and classmates.
- WEB-ENHANCED COURSES– This term is used when you don’t have any reduced time in a physical classroom, but your instructor still includes many online components to the course, such as handouts, course notes, quizzes, a grade book and other tools to enhance learning and make course materials accessible 24/7.
