Library Mission Statement
The Lawrence W. Tyree Library supports Santa Fe College with knowledgeable staff, appropriate resources, and an environment that promotes user success and life-long learning.
- The Classroom Collection is intended for faculty to use in their classes. Faculty may borrow materials for a two week, renewable period. All others borrowers must use materials in the Library.
- Faculty are able to browse the collection in person, or by using the online library catalog. If you have any questions about searching the collection, please call the Reference Desk at 352-395-5409.
- Faculty may place a hold request by using the online form.
- If available, requested items will be pulled and held at the Circulation Desk. Faculty may pick up materials themselves or, for their convenience, use the online request form to designate a proxy to pick up materials on their behalf. All items will be checked out to the requesting instructor’s account.
- Faculty should make online requests for Classroom Collection materials at least 2 business days in advance. Non-requested items will be loaned on a first-come first-served basis.
Copyright
- Materials checked out of the Classroom Collection are for classroom or in-library viewing. Unless noted in the library catalog, these materials do not include public viewing rights outside of the regular classroom environment.
- Fair use of copyright only allows these materials to be shown for direct classroom instruction - materials may be viewed only in the classroom, shown only to the registered students in the class, and must be a systematic part of the class, mentioned in the syllabus. It is a violation of copyright for a faculty member to open the film viewing to anyone not enrolled in the class.
Failure to follow any of these policies may result in loss of library privileges or disciplinary sanctions.
