Information
Professor Richard Tovar has been teaching since 2003. He received my M.S. from the Food Science and Human Nutrition department at the University of Florida in May 2002 with the specialization in food microbiology. In 2003 he began teaching Human Nutrition at Santa Fe College and later that year began teaching Introduction to Microbiology.
Mr. Tovar grew up in South America and emigrated to the United States to attend college. He likes to travel, try new things (especially food) and play soccer. Mr. Tovar is the current president of FIGHT Inc, a local non-profit dedicated to end human trafficking. He is also an active board member of the Alachua County Coalition Against Human Trafficking.
