Shay advocates that “Trusted information is a valuable asset to any organization; being good stewards of this valuable asset will reap benefits such as better decision making that results in cost reduction, risk reduction and the promotion of quality care and business strategy.”
Shay has 35+ combined years in industry and academia experience specific to healthcare business operations management in settings such as physician practice management, outpatient, inpatient settings to include managed care contracting, payer relations and operations expertise.
High communication and having a TEAM approach is what she advocates with her students and encourages them to think and believe that anything is possible with effort and good strategies!
Shay is an Approved AHIMA ICD10CM/PCS trainer. She has been a guest speaker for several national, statewide and local conferences.
She is a member of North East Florida Health Information Management Association, Florida Health Information Management Association (FHIMA), and American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
