Professor Gyu Leem has been teaching introduction to Chemistry and College Chemistry as an adjunct professor at Santa Fe college.  He is also a member of the Center for Solar Fuels, an Energy Frontier Research Center. He received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Houston, Houston, TX in 2008. After earning his Ph.D., he worked in the division of petrochemical and polymer at LG Chem. During the period of LG Chem, he developed high-performance water absorbing polymer materials for the use of baby diaper. Now, his research interests are in designing and synthesizing light harvesting polymer materials for the application of dye-sensitize photoelectrochemical cells (DSPECs).

As an instructor at Santa Fe College, my goal is to educate my students so that they can develop the scientific knowledge and creativity necessary for success in chemistry-related fields and careers.
