Karen Jones
Information
Professor Jones has been teaching post-secondary Spanish since 1998. She taught at the University of Florida from 1998-2005. Her association with Santa Fe College goes all the way back to 2003, when she became an official substitute instructor for the tenured professors in the Spanish Section. From 2003-2005, she often taught summer courses in Spanish at SF.
Beginning in 2006, she took on the role of developing the online Spanish program for SF and teaching the bulk of its online Spanish courses, and she has been with the College in this capacity ever since.
Prof. Jones has lived in Spain, Chile and Argentina (as well as all over the United States).
Prof. Jones enjoys training for triathlons, running, traveling the world, scuba diving, attending concerts and cooking (she is a professionally trained chef who spent most of the 90s working in restaurants).
Prof. Jones's areas of professional interest are: online course design, ADA compliance and other accessibility issues, fostering student engagement and focusing on development of growth mindset in students.
