The Henry and Rilla White Youth Foundation, Inc. is a Florida-based, not-for-profit corporation that was founded to serve individuals, youth, and their families. It was established in 1988 in memory of two of Levy County's most respected citizens, Henry and Rilla White. Henry was a teacher, school board member and superintendent of the Levy County School System. His wife, Rilla Drummond White, owned White's Grocery Store, a gathering place for youth. She was widely known for her commitment to her family, church and the youth of the community.
The professional staff at the White Foundation will be using the Trauma Focused–Cognitive Behavior Therapy program with youth, families, and group. We, currently, use cognitive behavior counseling in our practice. The keys to the success of this program is fidelity, training, and the commitment level of our staff. Creativity and flexibility are, also, necessary when adapting the TF-CBT model to best serve the needs of each individual child and family while maintaining fidelity to the core TF-CBT components. We are happy to be working with the Department of Juvenile Justice and serving their youth in the Gainesville area.
