Lucilida Hodge Selected at Jack Kent Cooke Transfer Scholar
We are thrilled to share that Honors student Lucilida “Luci” Hodge has been selected as a Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Transfer Scholar — one of the most prestigious and competitive undergraduate transfer scholarships in the country. Luci is on a pre-law track, and this honor is a testament to her hard work, intellectual drive, and the community of mentors who supported her along the way. Course Description: In this course, students will utilize descriptive and inferential statistical methods in contextual situations, using technology as appropriate. The course is designed to increase problem-solving abilities and data interpretation through practical applications of statistical concepts. This course is appropriate for students in a wide range of disciplines and programs. Topics include: measures of central tendency and dispersion; probability and probability distributions; linear regression (and inference for regression); and statistical inference.
How It Differs: This course will be offered with a reduced class size (max of 15) where you cover nearly the same material as a regular statistics course and receive nearly the same exams. You will develop your teaching, research, and presentation skills while making your resumé stand out with an honors math class.
Why This Class: Statistics is used to make sense of real-world phenomena and, due to the increase of data, has applications in virtually every discipline. You will always be able to answer the question: "when am I ever going to need this?"
Instructor Bio: Kelly Almaguer has a Bachelor and Masters of Arts in Mathematics where she completed 3 graduate level courses in Statistics. This ignited her passion for statistics and has since taught the subject the last 10 years in various high schools and colleges.

Greetings Honors Program students! My name is Ryan Barbeau. I am a Licensed Psychologist with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Prior to becoming a professor at Santa Fe College, I provided psychological services (assessments and interventions) in a variety of settings including a public school district, a community mental health center, a veteran’s hospital, and a prison. Also, for ten years I trained and supervised Ph.D. students and early career psychologists at the University of Florida.
In Abnormal Psychology, we explore the major types of psychological disorders, the language used to describe them, and how they’re diagnosed. We’ll also touch on treatment options for different conditions. This class offers a great introduction to understanding mental health. What sets this Honors section of Abnormal Psychology apart from the other sections I teach is a greater opportunity for honors students to collaborate with their professor and their classmates in selecting and guiding the topics we explore, discuss, and learn about together. In this honors section there will also be an enhanced focus on examining real world applications and critically analyzing and understanding the competing biological, psychological, and social theories that are shaping current trends and controversies in the field.

Register for Honors Classes Today
Once you have selected your courses for the coming term, including your honors courses, you can request Honors courses be added to your schedule using the Honors Registration Request. In fact, you don’t need to wait until your registration date to do this—you can request Honors classes right now. Note that you don’t need to include your whole schedule, just your Honors classes.
How Can I Register?
As an SF Honors Student, you have access both Honors and non-Honors courses. The process for registration is a little different, however, depending on which classes you plan to take:
Non-Honors Classes: Log into eSantaFe , then navigate to “Classes” and “Register for Classes.” Select the sections you want and register for them. It’s that easy!
Honors Classes: Registering for Honors classes requires that you submit an Honors Registration Request. Select all of the classes you would like for the coming semester and we’ll get you registered the next time we process requests.
Clear Your Registration Holds
While you’re logging into eSantaFe and planning ahead, take a moment to check in “My Status” and clear any registration holds. Whether it’s a financial obligation, the Registration Agreement, or just a late library book, there are a number of holds that can prevent you from registering for classes when your time comes. Take care of these ahead of time to make sure you can get registered right away when Advanced Registration starts.
Plan the Perfect Schedule
Scheduling requirements are different for each student, but there are some general guidelines, however, that are helpful as you build your schedule for the summer and fall. Follow these brief steps to start building a strong plan.
Maintain your honors status: To remain in the Honors Program, you will need to register for at least 3 credits of Honors coursework for the upcoming semester, or earn 30 Honors points. Click here for a listing of honors courses to be offered this coming semester.
Maintain progress toward your degree and/or transfer: You can review your progress toward earning your degree, as well as any courses required or suggested for transfer by reviewing your Degree Audit in eSantaFe. If you have any questions about degree or transfer requirements, take a minute to connect with the Academic Advisement Center.
Balance your time: Santa Fe expects that you will invest 2 - 3 hours per week for each credit hour that you register. This means that, for example, a full-time, 12 credit, schedule equates to a roughly 24- to 36-hour per week commitment.
How do I Know What to Take?
We’re all more successful when we know why we’re doing what we’re doing, and this semester is a perfect time to build or refine your academic plan. Whether you are working on your first plan of study, created yours with me last semester, or got your start with Professor Hom, now is a great time to connect with an advisor to build a plan. Just remember that you want to take at least one Honors class per semester.
Meet with your Advisor in the SF Academic Advisement Center
Your advisor in the AAC is the expert in preparing for graduation from SF and transfer to a university and they are dedicated to supporting your education and career goals. Make an appointment to put together your academic plan now, before it’s time to register. You can learn more about the AAC through the SF Advisement website, or set up an appointment to meet with your advisor.
Meet with a UF advisor in the UF@SF Center
If you are planning to transfer to UF in the future, now is also an excellent time to plan on meeting with an advisor from your intended plan of study. Contact the UF@SF Center for information on when UF advisors will be visiting to meet with prospective transfer students.

Remember that, when planning your schedule you’ll want to make room for at least one Honors class each semester. To help you put together that plan, we’ve got the schedule of classes for Fall 2026. Just remember that you’ll need to fill out an Honors Registration Request for any Honors class you plan to take.

The National Collegiate Honors Council's Partners in the Parks program offers immersive, place-based learning experiences in America's national parks. Upcoming programs include experiences at Capitol Reef National Park (with UVU's Dr. Ashley N. Egan) and Acadia National Park, combining hands-on ecological service with academic coursework and exploration of the natural world. These are exceptional opportunities for Honors students looking to earn credit while connecting with the landscape and with fellow high-achieving students from across the country.

Currently on display at the Harn Museum of Art, One World: Photographs from a Shared Planet features 43 photographs by 28 celebrated photographers — fifteen of them newly acquired and exhibited for the very first time. The works are organized around five themes: “Age & Innocence,” “Protecting/Renewing,” “Honor,” “Biomes,” and “Body & Soul.” The exhibition invites slow, reflective looking at images that capture resilience, community, and our shared humanity. As part of the Harn's 35th anniversary celebration, Florida in the Frame presents more than 80 works from the Florida Art Collection spanning c. 1850–1950. Organized around “Visualizing Florida,” “Expanding Cities,” and “Florida Destinations,” this is a rich look at how artists have captured Florida's identity over a century. ReadingPals is a statewide early literacy initiative focused on ensuring children are reading at grade level by the end of third grade. Locally managed by UWNCFL, the program matches trained volunteers with preschool and early elementary students for weekly reading sessions
Using a blend of evidence-based literacy instruction and social-emotional learning, ReadingPals supports vocabulary growth, comprehension skills, and positive relationships between students and mentors. UWNCFL collaborates with schools, families, and community partners to help close literacy gaps that can have lasting impacts on academic success.
Requirements

UF Pre-Health Advising Services Spring Term 2026
Pre-Health advising appointments are available in-person and remote through Zoom Monday through Friday. Our 30-minute appointments are open 7 days in advance and are bookable through the Connect Survey.
