Through the issuance of subpoenas or court orders, third parties can compel the production of certain records that are considered relevant in a particular claim or lawsuit. These requests, however, may present issues of confidentiality or may be subject to other legal objections that would preclude the desired disclosure. Accordingly, you should not accept service of legal documents, including subpoenas, on behalf of the College. If a process server attempts to serve you with documents as a representative of the College, you should direct them to the Office of the General Counsel. In the event that you are personally named in your official capacity at the College, please notify the Office of the General Counsel immediately, and forward the documents to this office for review.
