Does Education Programs at Santa Fe College offer a 40-hour Certificate?
Continuing Education at Santa Fe College offers the 40-hour credential, a state of Florida mandated Child Care Training. The goal of the training program is to provide child care personnel with the tools necessary to ensure quality care in child care. To accomplish this task, the Department of Children and Families mandates minimum introductory training requirements along with annual continuing education for professional development. Does Education Programs at Santa Fe College offer a CDA or FCCPC program?
Education Programs offers students the opportunity to complete the course requirements for the Florida Childcare Professional Credential (FCCPC). The FCCPC is a credential that will prepare you to work in childcare and earn your Staff Credential with the Department of Children and Families. Childcare centers are required to have one educator with a Staff Credential for every twenty children in the center. Learn more about the requirements or call 352-395-5322.

Does Education Programs offer fully online programs?
We strive to accommodate different schedules by offering in-class, online, evening, and weekend courses. At this time, no program can be completed completely online.
Will the Associate in Science degree in Early Childhood Education transfer to a four-year university?
The A.S. degree in Early Childhood Education prepares students to become Early Childhood educators immediately upon graduation. Students also have the opportunity to enroll in the Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education at Santa Fe College. The AS degree, however, does not prepare students to transfer into a four-year university. The Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree is designed to prepare students to transfer into a four-year university.
Will I earn my Florida professional teacher certification in the Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education program at Santa Fe College?
The BS program in Early Childhood Education focuses on the age group birth through age four. Students will be prepared to work in Early Learning Centers and with organizations related to Early Childhood Education. The BS program does not lead to a teacher certification for the K-12 school system since its focus is on early learning (birth through age four).
Will the Educator Preparation Institute (EPI) prepare me to earn a Florida Professional Teacher Certificate?
Yes, the EPI program is designed to meet the educational requirements outlined by the Florida Department of Education for individuals who have a degree in a field other than education. In addition to completing the EPI requirements, students must pass certifications to earn their Florida Professional Teacher Certificate.
