About the Career Service Council
Career Service Council is a self-governing, self-supporting organization that represents the interests of Santa Fe College's technical, clerical, trade and service employees.
Purpose of the Career Service Council
The Career Service Council (CSC) was created to provide representation for the interests and concerns of Santa Fe's technical, clerical, trade and service employees. The CSC acts as the information liaison between the Career Service staff, the Office of the President, Administrative Affairs, and other governing bodies of the college including the College Senate, and Student Government. The Council works to establish the communication mechanism through which matters of general concern and common interest relating to Career Service staff are filtered. Representatives participating in the active business of the CSC have the opportunity to contribute to the formation of policies and procedures relating to the career staff and their working environment. Essential information relating to matters of the college and the business of the CSC is disseminated monthly to all constituents.
Objectives of the Career Service Council
- Promote the welfare of Career Service employees and the college in its entirety.
- Act as the voice of Career Service staff providing open lines of communication to address employee concerns and issues.
- Act as a liaison between Career Service staff, the administration of the college, and the other groups that provide college governance.
- Raise awareness regarding college issues, programs, services, and events.
- Provide representation for college-wide committees and councils.
- Make recommendations regarding college policies and procedures.
