Overview
The COVID-19 Vehicle Hygiene Safety Assessment is required for any use of College-owned vehicles and applicable College-related travel.
Everyone must share the responsibility of providing a clean and safe work environment.
Physical Distancing and Hygiene Principles
What vehicle should I use?
- Consider taking separate vehicles.
- No more than 2 persons in a standard vehicle (e.g. 4-door sedan, SUV, or golf cart).
- Choose a vehicle that allows for 6’ physical distancing if possible and maintain distancing inside and outside the vehicle when possible.
- Use multiple vehicles for transporting more than 2 people.
How can I protect myself?
- Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer before and after vehicle use.
- Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer after fueling vehicles or touching items outside of your vehicle.
- Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.
- Avoid touching your mobile phone or spectacles/sunglasses. Regularly clean these items.
- Avoid using the recirculated air option for the car’s ventilation when someone else is in the car; use the car’s vents to bring in fresh outside air and/or lower the car’s windows.
- Wear a cloth face covering/mask when someone else is in the vehicle.
How and when do I clean the vehicle?
- Clean and disinfect high touch surfaces before and after use with a college provided disinfectant to avoid damaging the interior and follow the instructions on the product’s label.
