Stress

  • Pacifica (Apple / Android)
    • This app allows you to track your moods and activities, set daily challenges, provides relaxation techniques and offers a peer – support community!
  • Buddha Board (Apple)
    • This app allows you to draw designs as though you were drawing on a Buddha board, which means as you draw, your design starts to disappear. This allows you to practice “letting go” and to live in the moment and enjoy.
  • Breathe2Relax (Apple / Android)
    • This app provides a quick breathing tutorial to give you a chance to change your stress to something manageable. Short and simple, it provides guided instruction for 16 breaths.

Meditation

  • Headspace (Apple / Android)
    • Headspace is one of the most well – known meditation apps out there. When you join, you are provided with a free 10 – day beginner’s course that walks you through some of the fundamentals of meditation and mindfulness. It gives you the option to purchase more, as well. It is very simple, straightforward, and you can access it from the computer too!
  • Aura (Apple / Android)
    • This simple meditation app offers 3 – minute guided meditation sessions, as well as offer unguided meditations, they cater to you! They allow you to track your mood, connect with others, and offer a space for gratitude reflections. You can also download meditations to practice offline!
  • Stop, Breathe & Think (Apple / Android)
    • This is a meditation app that offers a unique start to your meditation session – it asks how you are feeling. It also gives you the option to have a guided or unguided meditation session, as well as the option to look at yoga and acupressure videos based on how you feel.

Eating

  • Foodstand (Apple)
    • This app has the plan to help you start eating healthy, and continue eating healthy. The following are the “challenges” that you focus on: eat less processed food, eat more plants, and eat mindfully. Don’t log every meal (unless you want to!), and join challenges that interest you. Plus, there is a great online community that gives you the chance to meet others who want to eat healthy too!
  • ShopWell (Apple / Android)
    • When shopping, it can be difficult to sort through healthy options that fit your personal lifestyle, especially if you can’t eat or need to avoid certain food allergies. ShopWell wants to make it easier! While shopping, all you need to do is scan the barcode while you are there, and they will alert you to any allergens you may be trying to avoid. It can also give you suggestions for new foods or recipes you may like, based on your interest history.

Time Management

  • Remember The Milk (Apple / Android)
    • Remember The Milk (Apple / Android) This app is a to-do list that provides lots of bonus features. You can get reminders sent to you via email or text, integrate with Gmail and Google Calendar, sync across devices, and organize the lists based on priorities, due dates, repeats … whatever works best for you!
  • RescueTime (Android)
    • This app tracks your mobile apps and phone calls – but for a good reason! Ever wonder where all your time is going? This app will let you know. It tracks the time that you spend on apps or talking on the phone, and then will provide you with a report. You can set alerts to remind you to take a screen break, as well as control what you want tracked. Not only can you see how much time you spend per day on your phone, you can also see when your “busy times” are.

Sleep

  • Relax Melodies (Apple / Android)
    • This app has a variety of sounds and melodies that allow you to create a background that you find relaxing and can act as white noise as you fall asleep, or while you meditate.
  • White Noise Lite (Apple / Android)
    • This app provides over 40 different sounds to find your perfect white noise to help you find a better night’s rest. This app allows you to set a timer, mix and match sounds and adjust the pitch to help you completely customize the app to what you need.

Travel

  • TransLoc (Apple / Android)
    • This app allows you to navigate Gainesville’s (and other cities) bus systems with ease! With GPS tracking coming right from the buses, the app can tell you projected arrival time, allows you to set alerts, and to search the best routes to get you from point A to point B!

Self – Harm

  • Calm Harm (Apple / Android)
    • This app uses ideas from different therapy techniques to help teach users to identify and manage your “emotional” mind, with positive impact. This app works to help you: distract, comfort, express and release. This app is intended to work to help manage, it is not intended to replace therapy.
