Four Easy Ways To Register!

New Student ID! Each student will create a student ID, regardless of registration method. Choose any combination of 8 letters and/or numbers as your permanent non-credit student ID. If you're a student or employee of Santa Fe, you still need to create a student ID, but you can use your SF ID.

All credit card payments will receive an email receipt. Please make sure you provide your email address. This information will not be shared with any other organization or company.

Register Online

Click on "TAKE A CLASS" (courses are by subject) to find/browse for your class. When you are ready to register, click on the COURSE TITLE, click SELECT CLASS, and follow the instructions for new or returning student.

Please call us for any assistance at 352-395-5193.

NOTE: If you would like a senior waiver, you CAN NOT PREREGISTER. The desired class MUST meet the minimum seat requirement and you have to register at the class.

By Telephone

Call 352-395-5193. Pay with Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express. Hours are 8 a.m.—4:30 p.m. Have student’s ID, birth date, address, phone number, email, course numbers, and your credit card ready.

In Person

Drop by our office at SF CIED, 530 W. University Ave, Gainesville FL 32601. Hours are 8 a.m.—4:30 p.m. Have student’s ID, birth date, address, phone number, email, course numbers, and your method of payment ready. Pay by cash, check, money order, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.

By Mail

Download and complete the registration form and mail with check to SF CIED, 530 W. University Ave, Gainesville FL 32601. Call 352-395-5193 and assure space is available before mailing for later-starting classes.

Seniors - 60+ Club

Seniors 60 years and older may have some course fees waived for their classes if:

  • They register the first night the class is held. Students who register before the class begins or register online will pay full price for the course.
  • Space is available in the class.
  • The class has met the required minimum seats.

The student must pay all lab fees or additional fees for any course. Please check space availability by calling 352-395-5193. Some classes do not allow senior waivers.

On-Site

You may register for remaining class space beginning the first day classes meet, at the class meeting site. Classes without sufficient enrollment will be cancelled. Some classes have registration deadlines. Please call the Community Education office at 352-395-5193 to check on seat availability or possible changes to a class.

Refunds

You may drop a class and receive a full refund by calling the Community Education office DURING THE FIRST TWO WEEKS OF THE COMMUNITY EDUCATION TERM for any class 2 weeks or longer in length. For classes shorter than two weeks in length, regardless of the week of the term, you must drop the class at least 2 business days before the class begins to receive a refund.

After the first two weeks of the Community Education term, and once a course is in progress, you must fill out a petition for refund. Refunds are not automatic, and a legitimate reason must be stated. After the FIRST THREE WEEKS OF THE COMMUNITY EDUCATION TERM, only partial refunds will be granted, upon approval. Full refunds will NOT be granted except in special cases.

Outdoor adventure classes require additional lead drop time. You may drop an outdoor class/trip, but you must petition for a refund. The petition will go before a review committee, and if approved, you will receive a partial refund.*

NO PETITIONS WILL BE RECEIVED OR REFUNDS PROCESSED once the last day of the term has passed. Call 352-395-5193, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. — 4:30 p.m. if you wish to drop within the appropriate drop time. You will need to provide the following student information: student ID, name, address, telephone number, and course number(s) of class(es) you wish to drop.

You will receive a refund check in the mail in approximately 4-6 weeks. Your credit card account will NOT be credited for the amount.

Note: Online classes have varying drop dates for refunds. Check online courses for details.

Student ID: Please use your current ID or create one using 8 characters, letters, or numbers.

*Please see the refund policy for these classes at the beginning of the Outdoor Adventures section of the brochure.

Cancelled Classes

Community Education reserves the right to cancel classes based on low enrollment or other causes. The student will be notified in advance, and a full refund will be provided. Refunds will not be credited to your credit card; instead, you will receive a refund check in the mail within 4-6 weeks.

Transfers

You may transfer into another section of the same class or another class (if space is available) by going to the class you wish to add. Please check space availability first by calling 352-395-5193.
