*Nursing Assistant (NA) This is an integrated education program. Students who qualify can participate in the Santa Fe College Nursing Assistant program with the in- and out-of-class support of an Adult Education instructor.

Students entering the integrated NA class participate in an Adult Education Nursing Assistant Preparation course prior to enrolling in the SF NA course. The NA Preparation course provides instruction using health science content. Students learn study skills, perseverance, test taking skills, and must demonstrate good attendance, timeliness, and positive work ethic. They are also assisted in working toward meeting the requirements for NA program entry, applying to support agencies to secure finding for the program, and completing the American Heart Association Basic Life Support Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR/BLS) certification. Acceptance in the actual SF NA Program is based on meeting program entry requirements and securing funding. Assistance will be provided in seeking funding, but students should expect to pay some of the associated program costs.
*40 Hour DCF Childcare Certification This course is taught in a classroom and online format. Students complete each of the six required classes and prepare for the exams to meet the basic State of Florida requirements for working in a childcare center. Students in this class also take the American Heart Association First Aid and CPR/BLS courses and the SafeStaff® FoodHandler certification to better prepare them to work with children.
*American Heart Association CPR/BLS & First Aid Certification These courses are taught as part of the NA and 40 Hour Childcare Certification credential courses, in conjunction with reading/science classes, and as stand-alone workshops.
SafeStaff® Foodhandler Certification These courses are taught as part of the 40 Hour Childcare Certification credential course, in the Horticulture/Agriculture Entrepreneur course, in conjunction with reading/science classes, and as stand-alone workshops. The SafeStaff® Foodhandler Training Program is a requirement for food service employees and teaches students proper food handling for family food safety.
Artist Entrepreneur This course is a contextualized reading, language, and mathematics courses for artistic students who would like to learn the skills to market and sell their artwork.
Horticulture/Agriculture Entrepreneur This course is a contextualized reading, language, and mathematics courses for students interested in agriculture and horticulture, who would like to learn the skills to market and sell their products. Students in this class also take the SafeStaff® Foodhandler Training Program.
Computer/Typing Instruction Computer and typing classes are available to students in all academic programs. These classes focus on workplace readiness, creating resumes, participating in job searches, and career exploration through the medium of learning typing and computer skills.
Student must meet the entry requirements for the SF Adult Education program to be enrolled in any of the programs listed above. Not all programs are offered every semester.
