A Student’s Journey

Francisco Lourenco enrolled at Santa Fe College and became a model student. He joined the SF Honors Program, studied many STEM classes and earned his A.A. with a 4.0 grade-point average.

Francisco volunteered at the SF Police Department and also assisted fellow students by serving as a tutor.

Because of his hard work at SF, Francisco became a recipient of the prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship; a scholarship awarded to less than 2 percent of applicants. He is currently working in a cancer research laboratory at the Harvard Medical School.
