Community Partnership Schools follows a model that brings together high-quality academics, health care, counseling, support, mentoring and more—all where students and their families are comfortable: in their own school.
Core partners include Children’s Home Society of Florida, the School Board of Alachua County, Clay County Schools, Santa Fe College, University of Florida and the Alachua County Health Department.
Santa Fe College is committed to remain actively involved in two regional community partnership schools, Howard Bishop Middle School and the Keystone Heights Jr./Sr. High School by providing leadership and support services. Projected activities include the following:
- Be actively involved in promoting the Community School model.
- Participate in the development of the community school partnership and participate actively in the development of the school’s mission, goals, objectives, and logic model in collaboration with CHS, ACHD, SBAC and UF.
- Facilitate communication among community school partners and surrounding community stakeholders.
- Arrange for student interns to support the community school partnership when applicable.
- Continue to collaborate with the partners to this Agreement with regard to the potential expansion of services and benefits to the student population and population of the surrounding community.
- Provide representation to the Community Leadership Cabinet, and Leadership Councils, along with SBAC, CHS, ACHD, and UF as well as other parties designated by the Cabinet.
- Provide assistance with sustaining the partnership through activities such as resource development, grant writing, and/or professional development.
