Provost
Ed Bonahue began teaching at what was Santa Fe Community College in 1997 as an instructor of theatre and humanities. He subsequently served as Chair of the Humanities and Foreign Languages department and as Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. During his years at Santa Fe, he has served as co-chair of a SACSCOC reaccreditation project, director of a U.S. Department of Education Title VI grant to globalize the arts and sciences curriculum, and director a Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence program that led to a cooperative agreement between Santa Fe and Beijing Union University. He was author of the SACSCOC self-study required to introduce bachelor's programs at Santa Fe and has led the college's Sustainability Council. In 2009, he visited Germany as a visiting Fulbright Scholar, studying the German system of higher education, transnational educational mobility, and opportunities for German-American academic cooperation and partnerships. Currently, he serves as Santa Fe's representative to the League for Innovation in the Community College, and to the Florida Council of Instructional Affairs. He has served as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs since 2009.
