The Health Information Technology Associate of Science degree is an AHIMA/CAHIIM accredited 70-credit hour program. HIM professionals play a critical role in maintaining, collecting and analyzing the data that doctors, nurses and other health care providers rely on to deliver quality health care. They are experts in managing patient health information and health records, administering computer information systems and coding the diagnosis and procedures for health care services provided to patients. HIM professionals work in a multitude of settings throughout the healthcare industry. Students needing additional information should check the program website or contact the program advisor in Building C, room 102. All students are urged to make an appointment to see Santa Fe's Business Programs advisor once each semester to ensure that adequate progress toward a degree is being made. All students must apply for graduation upon enrollment in their last semester of coursework.
