Library Instruction

The Lawrence W. Tyree Library has identified information literacy competencies and corresponding skills, which are based on the Association of American Colleges & Universities' Information Literacy VALUE Rubric. These skills are taught by the following methods:

  • formal library instruction developed for SF courses
  • paper and web-based tutorials
  • handouts
  • point-of-use instruction by reference librarians
  • credit courses covering the use of electronic resources and the Internet as research tools
