Estimated Cost

The program fee for the study abroad program to Japan will cover:

  • Round trip airfare from Florida to Japan
  • All in-country transportation
  • In Country Accommodations
  • Some meals
  • Tours, museums, and other activity fees
  • International Insurance


The cost may vary based on the number of students who sign up, exchange rates, and other variables. Changes are likely to be less than $200.

Read through the Cancellation and Withdrawal Policy to understand payment expectations. This policy will accompany the Study Abroad Application form that you must fill out and sign to join a program.

Payment Plan

The payments expected for the program will follow the calendar below.

Payment dates are subject to change. Participants will be informed via email if changes occur. To make a payment, go to the Cashier's Office in the Northwest Campus. The Cashier's Office accepts payments in cash, by check and by credit card. You can make your payments over the phone. More info  here. If you are not able to make a payment according to the dates assigned by Santa Fe College's International Education Office, it may still be possible for you to join the program; however you will likely incur increased costs. Please note that you will make some of the payments directly to the provider (EF Tours). The International Education Office will guide you through the required steps.

Jorie Scholnik-Zaron

Jorie Scholnik-Zaron is an Associate Professor of Student Development Instruction. She has been travelling internationally since she studied abroad in Italy while pursuing a degree at the University of Florida. To date, she has travelled to Spain, England, France, Amsterdam, Belgium, Israel, Canada, China, Japan, Greece and Switzerland.
