After moving down from the Chicago area at a young age, I grew up in Putnam County on the St. Johns River. I later attended St. Johns River Community College (now St. Johns River State College); following graduation, I served four years in the Navy where I spent most of my time on the U.S.S. Eisenhower (a nuclear aircraft carrier) working in Naval Intelligence. Following this I attended U.F. and did some graduate work, after which I and my wife started a small business. Later I taught at Buchholz H.S. here in Gainesville for a few years and then began working at Santa Fe as the programs advisor for Business Programs in '96, going on to become the programs coordinator for the department and then finally becoming a full-time faculty member. I now serve as the lead faculty member for Office Systems Technology and Legal Assisting.
After receiving my Associate of Arts from St. Johns River Community College (now St. Johns River State College), I later earned my B.A. in sociology from U.F. This was followed by an M.D.E. (Master of Distance Education) from the University of Maryland University College. I have continued studying various software and Internet applications as well as online instructional methods.
