Most graduates when surveyed, state the reason they entered the Respiratory Care Program was because they knew someone with asthma or lung disease and they wanted to help make a difference in their lives. Making great money and choosing a schedule that matches their lifestyle was secondary.
Respiratory therapists perform diagnostic tests, such as measuring lung capacity, and consult with physicians to develop patient treatment plans. Upon completion of this program, you are qualified to take all of the credentialing examinations offered by the National Board for Respiratory Care. As a licensed respiratory therapist, you may choose to enroll in a physician assistant or anesthetist program, or medical school.
