Florida General Contractor (GC) Exam Preparation
Prepare for the Florida General, Building and Residential Contractor exam with experienced instructors that combine licensed design and construction experience with college faculty expertise. SF's instructor guided small personalized class format sessions are focused on strengthening the exam preparation strategies and skills you will use to pass the exam the first time. The classes are offered in two sessions, three consecutive days each, during the month preceding the exam. All of the exam reference books are available through the SF Bookstore, on campus or online.
Success on the exam will depend on the time and effort in preparing. SF's resources are intended to help you focus on the necessary hard work. You will learn and sharpen the skills needed in the business, finance, contract administration and project management areas to pass the test with small in-person classes and personalized attention.
The program consists of:
- Book by Book Comprehensive Review of technical concepts and principles
- Practice Exams with emphasis on learning to solve technical problems and quickly find answers using the reference books
In addition to preparing you to take the exam by reviewing materials, subjects, formulas and problems we work on test taking methods and timing to confidently: approach, solve, answer and verify the correct answer.
Communication with and access to Instructor prior to and after classes for assistance on the examination and/or licensing process, materials, references, questions and problems is available.
The Florida General, Building and Residential Contractor exams are recognized as some of the most difficult anywhere. The exams are an open book, time limited three-part set. Passing the exam will require not only the understanding of current materials but the ability to effectively verify the information required.
You will need to be prepared, organized and have a great deal of practice with speed and efficiency. The course will help you focus and strengthen the skills necessary to quickly answer questions, solve problems and verify the correct answers.
