The Board of Directors meets once a month to discuss the general business of the organization and to guide the development of the organization as a whole. Officers are elected to represent and promote the organization locally and nationally. They are representative of the broad range of members within the association from Santa Fe College staff, to SF alumni and friends in our community.
Aaron Daye, President
Aaron Daye came to Gainesville in 2005 pursuing an internship with the Gainesville Sun Newspaper in 2005. At the age of 24, he became the first black photographer at the Gainesville Sun Newspaper covering some of the biggest stories in North Central Florida. Daye came to Santa Fe College in 2011 as a multimedia specialist with the office of Communications & Creative Services. Daye served as the brand ambassador for Saints Athletics and helped spearhead the revitalization of the Saints athletics brand from “Athletics to Saints” garnering regional and national awards. Daye has had his photos distributed nationally and published in newspapers and magazines across the country. Daye graduated from North Carolina Central University in 2005 with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Visual Communications. He is currently an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated and a mentor to the My Brother’s Keeper program at Santa Fe College.
Carrie Saites, Vice-President
Carrie Saites is a resident of Gainesville for over 24 years and is a current graduate student at University of Central Florida completing her Master of Research Administration (MRA). She holds a Bachelor in Health Service Administration and Associates of Arts from Santa Fe College. She is a Registered Medical Assistant and became certified in Entrepreneur Training from Startup Quest 2015. Her passions are advocacy and her mission is “people helping people” and strives to do this through her business, P.A.T.C.H (Patient Advocate Transforming Clients Health). She is a member of NCURA, CHADD, ADDA, Gainesville Area Innovators Network (GAIN) and prior President for the SF College Health Service Association Student Association. She is the current volunteer VP and board member for Santa Fe College Alumni and Friends.
Ben Boukari, Jr., Secretary
Ben Boukari, Jr., is a lifelong resident of Alachua, Florida. At the age of 26 he became the youngest official ever elected to the Alachua City Commission. Ben graduated Santa Fe College in 2009 with his Associate in Arts degree. Ben later attended Saint Leo University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.
Debi McElroy, Treasurer
Debi McElroy is the Executive Assistant to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Santa Fe College. Debi graduated from Santa Fe College with an Associate in Science Degree in Business Administration and Management and has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Saint Leo University.
